Each of its three workbooks is an 11-week course led by a qualified leader\/facilitator in a small discussion group format. The series leads participants through the fundamentals of discipleship to strengthen their walk with God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The three discipleship training courses are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.navpress.com\/p\/the-2-7-series-1-growing-strong-in-gods-family\/9781615216390\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Growing Strong in God\u2019s Family<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.navpress.com\/p\/the-2-7-series-2-deepening-your-roots-in-gods-family\/9781615216383\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Deepening Your Roots in God\u2019s Family<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.navpress.com\/p\/the-2-7-series-3-bearing-fruit-in-gods-family\/9781615216376\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bearing Fruit in God&#8217;s Family<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You will find <em>The 2:7 Series<\/em> discipleship training course is Biblically rooted and practically focused, developing disciples who experience long-term, life-changing results.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading montserrat\">The significance of the name <em>The 2:7 Series<\/em> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The name is based on the Scripture reference <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bible.com\/bible\/111\/col.2.7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Colossians 2:7<\/a> \u2014 the statement of the apostle Paul to a New Testament church: <em>\u201cRooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.\u201d<\/em> What the apostle Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, expresses in this passage clearly defines the specific goals of this training:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Become Built Up in Christ<\/strong>: For a Christian to become built up in Christ and strengthened (or established) in his or her faith. This series of courses includes instruction in practical Bible study techniques, Scripture memory skills, how to have an exciting devotional life, and how to be more effective in evangelism.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Overflow With Gratitude<\/strong>: For a Christian to learn to overflow with gratitude in everyday life. The series will help an individual learn to experience and enjoy a stable and consistent Christian walk.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Be Taught or Instructed<\/strong>: For a Christian to be taught (or instructed). This implies that training needs to take place before believers develop into a follower of Christ whose life can significantly impact the lives of people around them.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading montserrat\" id=\"h-how-to-use-the-2-7-series\">How to Use <em>The 2:7 Series<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The three books are designed to be completed in sequence.<\/strong> Book 2 builds on the work done in book 1, and book 3 builds on what your group has accomplished in the first two books. You will enjoy each book\u2019s biblical and practical approach to discipleship. It is difficult to perfectly differentiate between the two. An example of a growth group might be people who prepare a Bible study, come together to talk about what they have studied, and pray together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People in training groups learn and practice skills while they experience spiritual growth. In <em>The 2:7 Series<\/em> people learn and practice skills such as quiet time options, ways to meditate on Scripture, how to sharpen and tell their salvation story, and other skill-based
