Howard Hendricks, tenured professor at Dallas Theological Seminary and longtime friend and board member of The Navigators, died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at the age of 88.<\/p>\n
The Navigators family is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our friend and mentor Howard Hendricks. We pray that the Holy Spirit will comfort Howard\u2019s friends and family as they grieve. Howard was a remarkable man, characterized not only by his keen intellect and contributions to academia, but his warmth and genuine love for others. For 60 years, Howard shaped the minds of more than 10,000 young scholars at Dallas Theological Seminary.<\/p>\n
I echo the words of our International President and Board Chairman Emeritus Jerry White, who said, \u201cHoward\u2019s enthusiasm and encouragement propelled so many of us to lead and serve better. We have lost one of the great teachers and leaders of the Twentieth Century.\u201d<\/p>\n
It has been a privilege to share the Good News of Christ alongside Howard. His love for God and passion for living life with others truly embodied the heart of The Navigators. We are tremendously grateful for his friendship, and his wholehearted devotion to serving the Lord.<\/p>\n
