When the Lord invited His disciples to \u201cbe with him\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bible.com\/bible\/111\/MRK.3.14.NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mark 3:14<\/a>), it meant joining the Lord in His life. Together, they went to social events and on walking expeditions. They enjoyed faith conversations, and shared in the joys and sorrows of ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-paul-as-an-alongsider\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Paul as an Alongsider<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The apostle Paul practiced a relational approach&nbsp;to ministry. Even though he often launched a&nbsp;church and moved on, he demonstrated a relational approach to ministry. A relationship with God and a relationship with those whom we disciple provide the appropriate context for the disciplemaking process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"s2\"><b>2D<\/b><\/span>: There is always an open Bible between an alongsider and the person he or she is discipling. Around this open Bible, discovery and discussion (2D) take place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"s2\"><b>3A<\/b><\/span>: Discipleship includes application, accountability, and affirmation. Alongsiders are on an application journey. Accountable relationships encourage follow-through.
